Portswood Rec is owned and managed by Southampton City Council (SCC) through their Parks department. This includes fixtures such as benches and play equipment. FOPR work closely with SCC to help address issues that we've spotted or have been reported by members of the public. Please bear in mind that while we all share the aim of keeping the Rec safe and welcoming for everyone, resolving these issues is outside FoPR's remit.
Play areas are inspected regularly by SCC specialist staff, based on the type of equipment they have, and any defects are reported. If you find a defective or broken piece of play equipment you can report it by calling 023 8083 3007, or contact the Parks team through their online form.
For concerns about anti-social behaviour, please get in touch with SCC's community safety team. To report this to the police, call 101 or use Hampshire & IoW Constabulary's online form.
For fly-tipping, here's more details from SCC including their online form.
Please get in touch with us if you would like any more information, or would like to join the Friends of Portswood Rec: info.friendsofportswoodrec@gmail.com, or again you can use our contact form.
